GALLIPOLIS — Hastur, the fabled God of Humanity, returned to corporeal form Sunday night. The resurrection comes after a group of extremists, identified as Drew Warren, 23, and Meat-Man, age unknown, completed an ancient ritual on top of the abandoned Darnell building in Gallipolis.
According to eyewitness accounts, the resurrection occurred during a violent confrontation between Warren and the leader of The Natural Order, King Kopernicus III.
General Petyr Alexios of The Natural Order fell to his death during the encounter, and Kopernicus III managed to escape via helicopter.
Warren infiltrated the occult compound to steal a magic artifact; the Carcosan Crown. The crown is said to be made of two of the three known Carcosan Heirlooms, which are rumored to be pieces of Hastur's essence. Warren obtained one of these heirlooms during last October's Fall Festival Incident, where thousands of kloons wreaked havoc on the Monongahela Valley, later confirmed to be an elaborate attack by The Natural Order.
After Warren sustained life-threatening injuries, his accomplice Meat-Man completed the crown. Witnesses say the transformation was immediate.

Warren survived his injuries and has been seen accompanying the resurrected deity around Hudsonville since the incident occurred.
Within hours of the resurrection, Hastur and Warren launched an assault on Hudsonville that overwhelmed local Ranger defenses. Mayor Solomon Hudson was captured almost immediately. His current status is unknown.
Hastur demonstrated healing abilities on several sick residents while promising "liberation" from Human authority. Several Supernatural species pledged immediate allegiance to the returned God.

Federal agents from Tenebris have evacuated several residents from Gallipolis and surrounding Human cities. The agency declined to comment.
Dr. H.P. Roldan, a local historian, said that the resurrection represents an unprecedented shift in Human-Supernatural relations.
"His banishment came after his attempt to evolve Humans beyond recognition. His return suggests those plans may resume."

Smoke continues to rise from Gallipolis as of this morning. Local authorities have cordoned off a 50-mile radius around Hudsonville while Tenebris investigates the situation.
Hudsonville residents are advised to remain indoors while officials determined appropriate measures.
